The North Newton School Corporation is conducting a public hearing regarding the proposed Bus Replacement Plan for the years 2025-2029. The plan includes estimated replacement costs for buses and minibuses over the next five years. The plan also addresses justification for additional bus purchases, transportation services, and/or early bus replacement, as well as a plan amendment due to enrollment decreases. The resolution to adopt the Bus Replacement Plan for the budget year 2025 will be submitted to the Department of Local Government Finance.

The North Newton School Corporation's strategic plan centers around the vision of engaging, educating, and empowering students for a constantly evolving world. The plan emphasizes student engagement through relevant learning experiences, rigorous education with high expectations, and empowerment to expand learning and embrace the future. The meeting addressed personnel matters, including approvals for certified personnel, support staff, and extracurricular personnel. Discussions included staff leaves, transfers, promotions, and resignations. Financial reports and claims were reviewed, along with updates on software renewals and facility maintenance. The board also discussed homecoming week activities and plans for a bonfire and pep session.

The board meeting covered various topics including personnel reports, the approval of the agenda and consent agenda, a review of performance services, and board member and administrator reports. Discussion included updates on school projects, student assessments (I-READ), extracurricular activities, and facility maintenance. Future plans for the school year were also discussed, including summer school, teacher evaluations, and kindergarten roundup.
