The City Council conducted a public hearing regarding a zoning ordinance amendment for outdoor storage requirements. Additionally, they awarded a competitive bid for the purchase of a fire apparatus, canceled the upcoming general election due to unopposed candidates, approved a grant application for the police department's fleet emergency project, and passed a resolution regarding SWEPCO's proposed electric service tariff.

The meeting included a public hearing regarding the Water Conservation Plan and Drought Contingency Plan. The Council authorized the City Manager to submit an application for funding for water system upgrades. Additionally, the Council adopted resolutions accepting project completions and authorizing final payments for water valve, chlorination system, and sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects. The Council also adopted the Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan and approved a sign variance request.

The board convened for a budget workshop focused on the proposed fiscal year 2026-2027 budget. Additionally, the council authorized the reappointment of the presiding judge for the municipal court for a two-year term and approved the purchase of a skid steer and related attachments for the Streets Department, to be funded through the use of certificate of deposit reserves.

The board deliberated on a potential property acquisition project intended for park improvements, such as public restrooms and parking, though no action was taken on the matter. The board formally approved the Type B Budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Furthermore, the meeting included the review of monthly financial reports and informational updates regarding grants for Irvin Park.
