Franklin County Legislature Public Hearing
The public hearing addressed requests from multiple landowners for inclusion in the Franklin County Agricultural District. The discussion focused on the eligibility requirements, specifically the need for parcels to be capable of producing and selling agricultural products. It was clarified that inclusion does not result in automatic property tax breaks, as tax assessments are handled through a separate process. The legislative body also reviewed the program's procedural timeline, confirming that applications are processed annually and that there is an established eight-year opt-out cycle for participants.
