This document outlines the strategic direction of Valley View School District 365U, presented as a 2025 community report. The mission is to empower every learner to be college, career, and life-ready, underpinned by core values of Equity, Continuous Improvement, and Partnership. The strategic plan focuses on five key pillars: Learning and Growth, Equitable Systems, Safe, Responsive and Caring Culture, Stewardship of Resources, and Empowerment.

The Board of Education meeting included recognition of Angie Wells, a math teacher at Brooks Middle School, and Jenny Escobedo and Shawaiz Baig for the "Yes I Can" award. The Treasurer's Report for October 2025 was approved, along with the Schedule of Bills. The board also discussed liaison reports, student ambassador reports, and various action reports related to personnel, tax levy, tax abatement, and employee benefits. Additionally, the board approved the addition of English 10: AP Seminar and the High School Summer School Program for 2026. The meeting concluded with the approval of Resolution #2607, appointing Dr. Teresa Polson as Superintendent.

The meeting included the approval of the agenda and a discussion on the AFT Contract Ratification. The board approved the proposed changes in the contractual agreement between the Board of Education and the Valley View Council of Local 604, American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO. These changes will be incorporated into the Contractual Agreement, controlling employment terms and conditions from the 2025-2026 school year through the 2028-2029 school year. The membership ratified the changes to the collective bargaining agreement by vote on October 20 and 21, 2025.

The meeting addressed the affirmation of the Board of Education Mission Statement and Board Beliefs, along with the approval of the agenda. The Treasurer's Report for August 2025 was approved, and the Schedule of Bills for September 8, 2025, was also approved. The board discussed liaison activities with stakeholder groups and heard a Student Ambassador Liaison Report. Audience participation included discussions on the value and trust of staff, special support services, and the impact of potential changes to the high school schedule. Concerns were raised about a lack of communication, transparency, and effort to incorporate opinions from teachers, students, parents, and community stakeholders in decision-making.

The meeting included a roll call of board members, approval of the agenda, and a discussion regarding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. There was no audience participation. The board then moved into an executive session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees or legal counsel.
