Student Learning Committee Meeting Minutes
The committee discussed the review and approval of the Course Evaluation Policy. Key discussion points included incorporating an introductory section on the history of course evaluations, concerns about offering incentives for participation, and defining how evaluation results are interpreted in relation to student grades. Recommendations were made to adjust the average CEQ benchmark and to revise the length of the questionnaire. Due to a lack of quorum, formal approval was postponed until the April meeting. The committee also reviewed the Course Evaluation Questionnaire (CEQ), considering the development of modality-specific questions via conditional logic, and agreed to form a subcommittee to refine the CEQ, including limits on the total number of questions and specific questions for teaching assistants.
