Battle Creek Public Schools Board of Education Work Session
The meeting focused on several key items, including the acknowledgement of staff retirements, a presentation of the district's end-of-year progress report, and recommendations for kitchen remodeling and miscellaneous equipment purchases at the Post Franklin facility. The board also discussed and approved a tentative agreement with the local paraprofessionals association and authorized reductions in both non-exempt and professional staff. Furthermore, the board approved a revised monthly meeting schedule, conducted an evaluation of the Superintendent resulting in an effective rating, and discussed a contract extension for the Superintendent, which was ultimately postponed. The Superintendent provided updates regarding summer programming and the Meet Up and Eat Up initiative.
