Its mission is to partner with the community to provide a safe and challenging environment that promotes productive, lifelong learners. The theory of action focuses on ensuring a guaranteed and viable curriculum, granting campus autonomy, providing differentiated professional development for educators, and aligning educator placement with student needs to achieve student outcome goals within Board constraints.

The Board held a public hearing regarding the Texas Academic Performance Report and conducted various campus and department presentations, including recognitions for staff and student attendance. Action items included the approval of SHAC Committee parent volunteers, the adoption of a 457(b) deferred compensation plan, and the issuance of a statement of impact concerning a charter school. The Board also approved photography services for staff and students, established a facility committee and timeline for bond elections, approved a new certified athletic trainer position, and conducted the election of the Board of Directors for Education Service Center, Region 20. Following a business manager report, an executive session was held to discuss personnel matters and student placement issues, after which the board hired an instructional facilitator and approved a service contract with a non-public day school.

The committee meeting agenda includes a review of Emergency Operations Plan requirements, specifically focusing on three-year safety audit cycle requirements, EOP review training, and reunification for schools annex planning and tabletop exercises. Discussion topics also cover active threat defense strategies, compliance with 89th Legislative Session mandates including House Bills 33 and 121, and the utilization of Sentinel for safety compliance reporting. Additionally, the committee will receive updates on the Guardian Program formalization, safety grant funding availability, and anticipated expenditures for district safety and security services.

The plan is structured around five core goals: ensuring all students achieve academic growth, preparing all graduates for college, career, or military, promoting student and staff safety and well-being, recruiting and retaining high-quality faculty and staff, and increasing stakeholder engagement.
