This strategic plan outlines the direction for Calhoun County Schools from 2025-2030, aiming to provide a high-quality educational experience and empower students for lifelong learning and productive citizenship. Developed through community engagement and data analysis, the plan focuses on five strategic objectives: enhancing student outcomes through rigorous instruction and life skills development; maximizing stakeholder satisfaction by strengthening community, parent, and business partnerships; fostering employee development through best practices in recruitment, retention, and professional learning; maintaining robust support systems for student success; and ensuring fiscal sustainability to meet comprehensive district needs.

The Calhoun County School System's vision is to provide a high-quality education by focusing on the value of learning, ensuring success among students and staff, and maximizing potential to prepare productive citizens. Its mission is to address the needs of every child, considering their abilities, learning styles, interests, and diversities, through rigorous, high-quality instruction in a safe and positive environment. Strategic efforts include making schools community learning centers, nurturing individual student abilities, preparing students and staff with technology for lifelong learning, setting uniform standards for academic, social, and physical skills, monitoring benchmarks for student achievement, and providing a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment that values diversity, collaboration, and risk-taking.

The meeting included recognitions for GreenPower USA, Skills USA State Champions, WHS Track Team, individual state champions in track and wrestling, students with high ACT scores and perfect attendance, and a Fox 6 Rising Star. The agenda covered financials, approval of surplus items, a request for Stars for Shining Schools Summer Work Project, a Gadsden State Talent Search Agreement, approval of Elementary Summer Math & Literacy Camps, a bid award for WES Roof & Mechanical Upgrades, a proposed Strategic Plan, acceptance of a proposal for energy-saving design work, and personnel matters including TEAMS Contracts, other contracts, and supplement additions. Additionally, there was a discussion regarding the CSFO Contract Renewal.

Approvals were granted to McKee & Associates to bid turf for baseball, softball, and football fields, as well as renovations for PVHS fields and baseball/softball renovations. Concrete work in the basement of OHS was approved, along with renovations of the OHS gymnasium. Ward Scott Morris Architects were approved for WPHS renovations, and bidding was approved for the AHS Auxiliary Gymnasium Roofing Project. The board approved teaching contracts for 2025-2026 and a design agreement with Schneider Electric Buildings America's, Inc. for potential energy savings. An easement agreement with Alabama Power for WPHS work was also approved, along with multiple personnel actions and TEAMS contracts.
