This program plan for the Elk Grove Unified School District's Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) outlines how the district supports students' academic, social, emotional, and physical needs through engaging, pupil-centered experiences. The plan is structured around quality standards that include providing a safe and supportive environment, active and engaged learning, skill building, fostering youth voice and leadership, promoting healthy choices and behaviors, ensuring diversity, access, and equity, maintaining quality staff, guided by a clear vision and mission, establishing collaborative partnerships, and implementing continuous quality improvement. The program aims to prepare students for success in college, career, and life by addressing social and educational disparities.

The meeting featured presentations from the Pleasant Grove region as part of Teacher Appreciation Week, showcasing student leadership experiences, a student-authored book, and performing arts performances from the Pleasant Grove High School Musical Theater Troop. Additionally, the Board recognized the outgoing student board member for their service as a student advisor and advocate.

The Board of Education convened to conduct an overview and interview process for the selection of a search firm for superintendent services. Presentations were received from three search firms: Leadership Associates, McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., and Education Leadership Services. Following the interviews, the Board formally awarded the contract for superintendent search services to Leadership Associates.

The Board of Education addressed several critical administrative and operational matters. Discussions included an application for federal assistance regarding a Head Start budget modification to align with federal grant requirements. Additionally, the Superintendent presented a comprehensive school district reorganization plan intended to enhance safety and security measures, establish a new mental health division, facilitate the implementation of Common Core State Standards, and improve overall operational efficiencies, resulting in cost savings to the general fund. The Board also reviewed staffing assignments and organizational structures across multiple departments, including police services, student support, and communication.

The committee held a meeting to discuss family and community engagement strategies and committee-specific items. The agenda also included a review of various financial topics addressed in prior Board of Education meetings, such as the 2021-22 adopted budget, COVID-19 relief funding, the American Recovery Plan Act, ESSER grants, and updates on unaudited actual income and expenditures.
