The council discussed and approved an application for 2026 State Funding through ALDOT for the Airport 2026 Grant. They also approved a change order for sidewalk widening at Sunset Drive/Hwy 69. Additionally, a councilmember requested a review of Gilley Street to consider making it one way.

The special called meeting was convened to canvas votes and count provisional ballots. The process involved verifying voter names and tabulating votes from both machines and absentee ballots. After the initial count, a determination was made that a runoff election would be necessary due to a tie in the vote. A resolution was introduced and passed to accept the final vote count.

The meeting included a personnel report with new hires for the Street/Maintenance and Sanitation departments. A special event license for Alabama Beer Promotions was considered and approved for the Lake City Fall Fest. Discussions were held regarding the Charter franchise agreement, focusing on the agreement's terms, service response times, outages, and service availability in certain areas of Guntersville. An alternate poll worker was appointed, and the October meeting dates were rescheduled. A citizen inquired about the progress on the Point of Grace Church.

The council discussed and approved a resolution to apply for an ADECA Overtime Grant for the Police Department. They set public hearings for lounge and restaurant liquor licenses for Casey's and JD's on the Lake. The council also approved the Motorola Agreement and the Charter Franchise Agreement, and the Unity Fiber Franchise Agreement. Council members thanked the Mayor, City Clerk, colleagues and city employees. A citizen spoke about his property on Veterans Way, which had been condemned.

The meeting included swearing in the Mayor and all Council Members. The council discussed and approved the personnel report, Ordinance No. 1164 for the Organization of Procedure, Ordinance No. 1165 to adopt all Previously Passed Ordinances, Resolution No. 1470 for Council Committee Assignments, Resolution No. 1471 for Council Board Appointments and Resolution No. 1472 to appoint City Officials. The announcement was made about honoring Veterans at Guntersville Veterans Park on November 11th.
