The Board of School Trustees discussed and approved various items including the personnel report, expenditure approval list, and financial reports. They approved the acceptance of several donations to various school programs. The Board also reviewed and authorized out-of-state professional development, field trips for Mu Alpha Theta, JROTC, and IMPACT, as well as the McCulloch Junior High course description guide. A presentation regarding an inclement weather waiver and a proposal for a new virtual school, the Marion Giant Virtual Academy, was made. Additional actions included updating the high school course description guide, closing the Grant County Community Justice Center as an active school site, and canceling a teaching contract.

The executive session focused on discussions authorized by federal or state statutes, matters concerning the status of individuals under the board's jurisdiction, and the review of confidential records classified by law.

The board meeting included the approval of consent agenda items and a discussion regarding board policy 4120 on support staff employment. Key actions included the approval of a resolution to reallocate supplemental homestead credit funds, the appointment of a new treasurer and deputy treasurer, the authorization to void stale checks, and the appointment of a new member to the building corporation board. Additionally, the board recognized student achievements in the CDL program and AP testing, and discussed career center opportunities.

The board meeting was primarily dedicated to the presentation of the Mary Clark Hanley Awards, honoring educators for their instructional excellence, dedication to student success, and positive impact on the school community. Several teachers were recognized for their specialized work in kindergarten instruction, English Language Development, and overall commitment to student growth. The discussion highlighted the recipients' professional achievements, their abilities to foster meaningful student relationships, and their service to the district beyond their classroom responsibilities.
