The Pittsburg Independent School District is calling for a bond election to authorize the issuance of $88,350,000 in bonds for the construction, renovation, improvement, and equipment of school buildings, including necessary sites. The bonds may be issued in various series, maturing serially or otherwise, not more than 40 years from their date, and will bear interest at a rate not exceeding the maximum authorized by law. The Board of Trustees is authorized to levy and pledge annual ad valorem taxes on all taxable property in the District to pay the principal and interest on the bonds. The election is set for November 8, 2022, with early voting available at designated locations and times.

The Pittsburg Independent School District is calling for a bond election to be held on May 4, 2024. The election includes two propositions: Proposition A for $74,400,000 to fund the construction, renovation, improvement, acquisition, and equipment of school buildings, including a high school; and Proposition B for $19,400,000 to fund similar projects for the junior high school. Both propositions authorize the Board of Trustees to levy and collect annual ad valorem taxes to pay the principal and interest on the bonds. The notice also details early voting locations, dates, and times, as well as information on how to apply for ballots by mail.

The Upshur County Commissioners Court will hold a public hearing to consider the FY 2026 Proposed Budget. The proposed budget is expected to raise more total property taxes than the previous year's budget.
