The River Park Master Plan for SDSU Mission Valley outlines the development of a comprehensive park. It focuses on creating a sustainable, accessible, and flexible space that fosters connection to the San Diego River, balances active and passive recreation, and serves as a living and learning laboratory. Key design principles include hydrological concepts for water absorption and filtering, and a wide array of amenities such as pedestrian/bike paths, multi-use fields, open green spaces, and interpretive educational facilities. The plan details the development across River Park West, Central, and East zones, with a projected completion of the River Park by August 2023.

This strategic plan for 2025-2028 outlines an ambitious, collaborative, and community-focused vision to advance equitable health and well-being. It is structured around four strategic pillars: Leading Community Impact, Advancing Innovative Practices, Developing Students for Compelling Careers, and We Are CHHS. The plan aims to enhance academic programs, expand research impact, strengthen community partnerships, and diversify resources, ultimately preparing students and professionals to positively impact health equity and well-being.

San Diego State has experienced budget cuts, and is managing limited resources. Challenges include maintaining accessibility and academic excellence, preserving diversity, and continuing to improve the graduation rate. Enrollment is being reduced, but Sweetwater Compact and City Heights collaborative Hoover High School agreements will continue to be honored.

The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) 2025-2028 strategic plan is focused on advancing equitable health and well-being for all. It prioritizes leading community impact through research and service, advancing innovative practices through interprofessional education and interdisciplinary research, and developing students for compelling careers through partnerships and professional development opportunities. The plan also aims to increase CHHS visibility and enhance belonging within the college community.

The San Diego State University Strategic Plan 2020-2025, "We Rise We Defy: Transcending Borders, Transforming Lives," outlines five strategic priorities: becoming a premier public research university (R1) while leveraging its identity as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI); building resilience through diversified revenue streams and responsible resource management; fostering a unified SDSU identity across multiple campuses; advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion; and prioritizing student success through affordable, high-quality education and comprehensive support. The plan aims to enhance research infrastructure, expand educational access, increase revenue generation, promote inclusivity, and improve student well-being. Specific goals include achieving R1 status, diversifying revenue streams, strengthening campus-wide communication, promoting equity and inclusion, and closing equity gaps in student success.
