The board discussed the Lower Delaware Wild and Scenic River Expansion Project, focusing on whether to extend the federal designation to local tributaries within the township. Residents provided public comments expressing divergent views; proponents argued that the designation would provide essential environmental safeguards against industrial development, such as potential data center projects and industrial wastewater discharges. Concerns were raised regarding potential federal overreach, while others countered that the federal partnership model offers protections for the river and community without encroaching on private property rights.
