The board reviewed several policies including accounting standards, annual audit requirements, video recording on school buses, and vending machine regulations. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the first reading of a proposed uniform grant guidance policy, which includes new procurement rules and revised spending thresholds. Board members expressed concerns regarding the proposed authorization levels for single-individual procurement and requested that the policy be returned to the Board Operations committee for further review and refinement of internal checks and balances. Additionally, the superintendent proposed the removal of a policy regarding professional staff visitations and conferences on the grounds that it duplicates existing procedural guidelines.
