The City Council meeting included presentations of certificates to the Public Works team in honor of National Public Works Week and to the City Clerk's office for Municipal Clerk's Week. A business spotlight was presented for Nailology Lab. The Police Department conducted a graduation ceremony for the second annual Citizens Police Academy, and the council performed an oath of office and promotion ceremony for two police officers.

The Planning Commission meeting included several key agenda items. Staff provided a report on the General Plan and Housing Element Annual Progress Report for the calendar year 2025. The commission also discussed a general plan amendment and zoning map amendment for Winter Circle, deciding to continue the item to a later date. Additionally, the City Engineer presented an update on the Pine Street project, which is part of a downtown revitalization effort involving complete streets, including infrastructure improvements like bike lanes, a pedestrian hawk signal system, and new street features.

The committee held a regular meeting covering several agenda items. The consent calendar included the adoption of findings required by AB 361 for the continued use of teleconferencing. During the public hearing portion, the committee approved a Site Development Permit for the installation of two modular classroom structures. The City Council adopted Resolution No. 2020-43 in support of the Orange County Sheriff's challenge to a court order requiring the release of inmates from Orange County jails. Discussions focused on the potential impact on public safety, the capacity of jail systems, the necessity of parole and support services for released individuals, the fiscal implications of the challenge, and concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19 within jail populations.
