The Itasca County Outdoor Recreation Plan provides a strategic framework to guide the management, enhancement, and expansion of outdoor recreation opportunities. It is based on five overarching principles: connecting people and communities to the outdoors, protecting and reinvesting in existing recreation assets, expanding and improving opportunities strategically and equitably, strengthening partnerships and coordination, and supporting economic vitality and community well-being through recreation. The plan aims to foster healthy communities, resilient natural systems, and a strong outdoor economy, ensuring equitable access and enjoyment of the county's natural assets for all residents and visitors.
