The meeting included the approval of Resolution No. 2025-180, which sets the date for a public hearing regarding an ordinance to change the zoning classification for a property located at 1125 East Street Lane.

The committee approved the final version of the Fiscal Year 2027 Tax Increment Finance Indebtedness Certification and passed a resolution authorizing a monthly internal transfer in the amount of $58,663.42.

The Board of Adjustment held a meeting where the election of a new Chair and Vice-Chair took place. The Board reviewed and approved two variance requests: one regarding a yard setback reduction to allow for a garage addition at 1904 Belmont Drive, and another regarding a yard setback reduction to allow for the construction of a detached garage at 302 2nd Avenue.

The committee approved a stipend for a local artist for work on the Bike Trail Mural and authorized a special request for a holiday performance in collaboration with the Grinnell Area Arts Council, Grinnell College, and the Grinnell School of Music. Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Director presented key points regarding the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

The council appointed a new member to the 1st Ward City Council seat and approved various financial items, including city and payroll claims, internal fund transfers, and bond counsel agreements. The council conducted a public hearing regarding the conveyance of real property to Main & Main Capital Group, LLC, which was subsequently approved. Other actions included awarding a construction contract for the Veterans Monument and Plaza Project, approving participation in a resilience toolkit cohort, updating the master parks and recreation plan, and authorizing various payments for water infrastructure projects. The council also authorized legal services and work agreements related to a cyber insurance claim, approved a street closure for a local school event, and set dates for future public hearings on development agreements and the sale of city-owned property.
