A debrief of the Farm Hop event was conducted, and planning for the upcoming GardenFest event was finalized, including vendor coordination, marketing materials, and staffing. Additional discussions covered the role of the EDA in agricultural tourism, the importance of preserving open space for quality of life, and the development of new conservation mapping resources to better educate property owners on land protection.

The Board of Supervisors meeting covered various agenda items, including the Eastern Frederick County Transportation Study Phase II authorization, the mitigation agreement for the Smithfield Avenue public safety radio tower, and appointments to various boards, committees, and commissions. Public hearings were held regarding a proposed boundary line adjustment and ordinance amendments to the Frederick County Code, including zoning and subdivision ordinance updates and sewage disposal and sewer regulations.

The Planning Commission discussed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance, focusing on restructuring to comply with the Code of Virginia, improving usability, and converting narrative standards to tables. The commission also reviewed current planning applications and engaged in presentations regarding an economic study.

The meeting agenda includes public hearings for the rezoning of Plasters HVAC from General Business to Industrial Transition, and the revocation of a conditional use permit for 172 Fire House LLC. Additionally, the commission will review committee reports, consider current planning applications, and hold citizen comment sessions.

The Board addressed various appointments, including the Regional Jail Authority and the Development Impact Model Oversight Committee.
