The board meeting featured the recognition of extraordinary students who achieved success at the state level in track and field, highlighting their dedication and resilience. Additionally, staff members from Maplewood Elementary and Winnatonka High School were honored for their recognition as Model PLC (Professional Learning Communities) Schools at Work, a national honor reflecting collaboration and student focus. The board also approved the agenda and a lengthy consent agenda. Finally, a financial update was provided regarding the 2026-2027 school budget, emphasizing the transition to a modified cash accounting process, the upcoming annual audit, and operational reporting requirements.

The workshop meeting included the recognition of candidates for upcoming board elections and a presentation from students regarding a Client Connected Project. A staff member was honored as a Champion of Service. The primary workshop topic was a presentation on the District Strategic Plan and staff goals related to building staff capacity to meet student needs.

Additionally, a community partner from the city of Kansas City was recognized for their support in navigating permitting processes for school construction projects, and two principals were honored for their leadership.
