Pacific Lutheran University Strategic Enrollment Management Plan 2018-2023
Pacific Lutheran University's 2018-2023 Strategic Enrollment Management Plan addresses challenges and opportunities in the current enrollment environment, characterized by a stagnant number of high school graduates, changing demographics (growth in Hispanic students, decline in White students), and a high tuition discount rate creating fiscal pressure. The plan focuses on sustainability and student success, aiming to maintain undergraduate enrollment while lowering the discount rate and growing graduate enrollment. Strategies include developing a sustainable pricing and financial aid model, creating new relevant academic programs, expanding mental health support, providing professional advising for all first-year students, translating key website content into Spanish, and developing new graduate programs. Goals include maintaining first-year and transfer student enrollment, improving retention and persistence rates, addressing racial and ethnic gaps in retention and graduation rates, achieving a 40% male undergraduate enrollment, maximizing athletic team roster capacity, and increasing net tuition revenue.
