The meeting included discussion and action on several items, including an update on the State Homeland Security Project Grant, an amendment to an inter-local cooperative agreement for the Senior Center, and an amendment to the USL memorandum of agreement for bookmobile services. The board also considered a memorandum of understanding with Data East LLC, recommendations from the Board of Equalization hearing officer, and a phone line agreement for victims of domestic violence. Additionally, there was a public hearing and subsequent adoption of an ordinance related to a zoning map change, and the adoption of the 2019 tentative county budget.

The meeting included a presentation of a special award to law enforcement officers for saving a life. Discussions also involved a request for funding for Miss Carbon County, which was tabled, and a possible approval of an amendment to the current Partnership for Success contract with the state of Utah. Additionally, there was a presentation on the Rural Utah Alliance, aimed at representing and advocating for rural counties.

Bids were also opened for a storage shed for Carbon County Rec, and a motion was made to acknowledge the bids and have them reviewed. A review and possible award of materials bid for manhole materials and 18-inch sewer pipe for the Ridge Road sewer line project were also discussed and approved.

The commission meeting included presentations from Little Miss Carbon County, Junior Miss Carman County, and Miss Carbon County, who discussed their platforms and upcoming projects. The commission discussed and approved funding for the pageants to be held in the summer of 2025. An appointment to the Tourism Tax Advisory Board was reviewed and approved. The commission discussed and approved a state of Utah contract for the Division of Outdoor Recreation off-highway vehicle grant for fiscal year 2025 quarter 1. The commission also discussed and approved a state of Utah contract for the Division of Outdoor Recreation off-highway vehicle grant for fiscal year 2025 quarter 1. The commission reviewed and approved the fiscal year 2024 through 2025 interlocal cooperation and subrecipient contract agreement with the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments for senior center funding. The commission discussed and ratified the assignment order with Jones and Demill Engineering for a fire suppression pump at the Carbon County Airport. Finally, the commission discussed and approved assessor-initiated adjustments.

The meeting included a yearly recap from Miss Carbon County, a ratification of a contract with JK Allred Construction for fire mitigation work, and a discussion regarding a change to the Carbon County zoning district map. The commission also considered a resolution authorizing cross appeals of state tax commission decisions on centrally assessed property and the approval of a Carbon County credit card for Bill Heath. A county resident raised concerns regarding flags on public buildings.
