Suny Old Westbury College Council Meeting Minutes
The meeting addressed significant topics including the prevalence and policy surrounding Artificial Intelligence (AI) use by students, with plans for a detailed presentation at the next session. The President's Report covered divisional updates, noting that the university is nearly meeting the research benchmark for R2 Carnegie Classification. Updates were provided on adjustments within Athletics oversight due to previous concerns, and efforts to improve Information Technology responsiveness. Campus safety measures were reviewed following past incidents. Financial discussions highlighted that the budget is balanced with reduced reliance on reserves, and a commitment was made to eliminate reserve usage for balancing the budget.
