The City of Sanibel's Transportation Master Plan aims to define the future of its transportation network over short-term, 5-year, 10-year, and 20-year horizons. The plan seeks to implement capital projects and improvements that prioritize efficiency, user convenience, environmental concerns, and resilience, while actively avoiding road widening to maintain the island's unique natural character and reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicles.

The commission held a public hearing regarding the nomination of local sites to the Sanibel Register of Historic Landmarks, specifically the Sanibel Lighthouse and the Sanibel Cemetery, both of which were approved for designation. A public hearing concerning the Wulfert Cemetery nomination was continued to a later date to allow for additional historical research and access clarification. The City Council Liaison provided reports on recent council actions, including the approval of elevation ordinances, discussions on the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, and updates on capital improvement projects. Planning department staff provided updates on permit reviews and upcoming meeting schedules, and commissioners discussed community engagement regarding the Sanibel Plan review and the importance of addressing social media misinformation.
