Ashe County Board of Commissioners Meeting Minutes
The board addressed various administrative and community matters, including recognition of local fire departments for improved insurance ratings, an update on DSS statistics and the PATH NC child welfare system, and an overview of the 2026 Ashe Bash festival. Consultants presented findings on an EMS classification and compensation study, recommending a standalone county department and specific staffing models. Additionally, the board authorized participation in the Remnant Defendant Opioid Settlement Agreement, approved contingency funding and committee appointments for Generations Ashe, and accepted a bid for timber clearing at the county landfill.
