This document outlines the Newport-Mesa Unified School District's plan for utilizing the Educator Effectiveness Block Grant funds from fiscal years 2021-22 through 2025-26. The plan aims to provide comprehensive professional learning to promote educator equity, quality, and effectiveness. Key focus areas include coaching and mentoring staff, effective standards-aligned instruction, re-engaging struggling students, improving student well-being, fostering a positive school climate, enhancing inclusive practices for students with exceptional needs, implementing effective language acquisition programs for English learners, and supporting early childhood education. The plan is designed to align with and support the district's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success for all students.

This Arts Strategic Plan, developed through collaboration between the Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) and its Arts Commission, aims to provide an equitable K-12 art experience. The plan is structured around four pillars from the California Arts Framework: effective and equitable arts education programs, continuous improvement through evaluation and strategic planning, active leadership and advocacy in arts education, and professional development to support arts learning. It details the expansion of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) programs—including dance, music, visual arts, theater, and digital media—facilitated by Proposition 28 funding, to enrich students' educational experiences and foster creativity, critical thinking, and overall well-being across all school levels.

The committee held an election for its officers. Key discussion topics included a review and request for comments regarding parent notifications and the requirements for teachers and instructional aides. Additionally, a presentation was provided on youth drug prevention covering vaping, marijuana, and fentanyl.

The meeting included an LCAP input session, a presentation on teacher and instructional aide requirements, and a resource fair featuring various community agencies such as health centers, adult education schools, and support services.

The agenda for the meeting includes the ratification of vacancy announcements, specifically for the Office Assistant III position. Additionally, the Commission is scheduled to certify numerous new eligibility lists for various roles, such as instructional assistants, nutrition services assistants, student supervision assistants, and IT technicians. The meeting will also feature informal reports from the Personnel Director and remarks from the commissioners.
