The board met to address several construction and maintenance items. The Board convened a meeting for the purpose of entering into an executive session to receive legal counsel regarding a matter protected by attorney-client privilege.

The board discussed and approved a construction schedule for various school renovation and addition projects slated for 2004. An updated architectural plan for the Wynnton Elementary construction project was presented and approved to minimize environmental impact on trees. A purchase order for a new sound system for the Columbus High School auditorium was authorized using multiple funding sources. Additionally, the board awarded a contract for construction management services for the J.D. The board heard a ruling from the hearing officer regarding a motion equivalent to a summary judgment, which was overruled. Subsequently, the board voted on the termination of an employee contract for the 2005-2006 school year, ultimately deciding not to terminate the contract.
