The board convened for a closed session in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act to consult with legal counsel regarding real property and the potential consolidation or repurposing of district facilities and buildings. Following the closed session, the board reconvened and formally adjourned the meeting.

The Board discussed several items including public comments regarding budget concerns and promotional decisions, a moment of silence for a passed employee, and recognition of educators and students for academic achievements. Key business items included approval of various requests for funding and equipment for specific campus initiatives, a presentation and public hearing on the Optional Flexible School Day Program at Lyndon B. Johnson High School, and the acceptance of several donations for various school programs and activities.

The board meeting focused on several key items, including the renaming of the Alexander High School ninth-grade campus to Trautmann Middle School and the renaming of the existing Trautmann Middle School to Elias Herrera Middle School. Board members discussed concerns regarding workplace coercion, specifically within the police department, and requested policy development and external law enforcement involvement. The board also conducted several recognitions, honoring outstanding secondary teachers, students, high school blood donors, and the Trautmann Middle School varsity band for their state-level achievements.

Additionally, regarding one of the appeals, the board recommended that the administration implement written guidelines for future advisory groups.
