North Middlesex Regional School District School Committee Finance Subcommittee Meeting
The meeting included an update on the FY26 budget, addressing issues with unencumbered purchase orders and reporting challenges. Discussions focused on the uncertified E&D number, which increased, and the impact of unanticipated revenue from Chapter 70 aid, Medicaid reimbursements, interest-bearing accounts, and homeless transportation funds on future budgeting strategies. The subcommittee also reviewed plans for consolidating district bank accounts to optimize interest earnings and improve budget forecasting, noting that better management of Medicaid reporting through dedicated staffing will provide more reliable revenue projections moving forward.
