The Municipal Council meeting addressed various administrative and operational matters, including the approval of financial accounts and disbursements. The council authorized the renewal of key service contracts, specifically for snow removal with the provincial transport ministry and firefighting communications with a regional emergency center. Strategic decisions included supporting the maintenance of regional adapted and medical transport services, approving the sale of municipal land, and endorsing a request for agricultural land exclusion to facilitate local recreational development. Urban planning decisions were made regarding minor derogation requests for residential properties, and financial support was granted to local community and educational organizations. The meeting also included departmental updates on municipal service initiatives, local festivals, and community engagement programs.
The council convened a special meeting to address the tender process for professional services related to the operation of wastewater treatment and potable water production facilities. Following a review of the bid submissions by a selection committee, the council awarded a two-year contract to the firm Nordikeau to perform these services.
The council addressed a wide range of municipal business, including the adoption of bylaws regarding zoning regulations and expense reimbursement policies. Significant actions included awarding the 2026 asphalt contract, authorizing a loan, hiring seasonal staff for public works and recreation, and renewing the 9-1-1 emergency service contract. The council also formally supported regional initiatives such as the Techno-Forêt Énergie processing project and a petition for improved passenger rail services.
