The agenda includes a public hearing regarding a land use application from Rebecca and Keith Reiter in Avon Township. Additionally, the meeting will cover discussions on reappointment eligibility for 2027.
The meeting commenced with the introduction of a new County Administrator, followed by the adoption of modifications to the agenda and consent agenda. A significant portion of the proceedings focused on evaluating existing police services contracts with various municipalities and school districts. Commissioners discussed the fiscal impact of these contracts on the county levy, specifically questioning whether the charges sufficiently cover the direct and indirect costs of the services provided. The discussion concluded with a motion to refer several police service contract items to the budget committee for a comprehensive cost analysis prior to further consideration.
The Board of Commissioners discussed various administrative and operational items, including a change order for the Justice Center garage earthwork and a Certificate of Need request for the Elk River Landfill. Contracts for police services with the cities of St. Augusta, Rockville, and St. Stephen were reviewed. Additionally, the meeting covered a road improvement program, property services related to ditch assessments, and the authorization of a conditional use permit and other planning commission recommendations.
