The farm's strategic focus areas include advanced wildlife management through habitat enhancement and food plot cultivation, sustainable timber resource management via thinning and prescribed burning, and fostering community engagement through youth hunting initiatives and forestry tours. The overarching purpose is the dedicated stewardship, preservation, and intergenerational transfer of this unique 450-acre natural resource.

The strategy focuses on increasing the utilization of woody biomass for energy while ensuring sustainable forest management. It emphasizes supporting the existing forest industry, developing a national community energy program, and advocating for federal operating incentives. The plan also addresses the importance of incorporating biomass energy as a carbon-preferred energy source, promoting reliable information on biomass supplies, and addressing emissions from biomass boilers to protect public health.

The strategic plan for Weogufka State Forest and Flagg Mountain focuses on restoring Flagg Mountain cabins and the lookout tower to near-original condition, with adjustments for public access for primitive camping and sightseeing, with minimal maintenance. The plan aims to preserve and promote the Flagg Mountain Fire Tower, cabins, and campgrounds, allowing the public to experience 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps building projects and the natural beauty of the area. It also aims to enhance Flagg Mountain's role as a major component of the southern terminus of the Pinhoti Trail, connecting Alabama to the Appalachian Trail.
