The council convened to conduct a closed session concerning personnel, labour relations, and legal matters. A presentation was received from the District of Tofino regarding the Tofino Housing Corporation. The council formally awarded the contract for the Seawalk Restoration Project to Hazelwood Construction and authorized staff to apply for associated grant funding. Furthermore, amendments to bylaws regarding the Willingdon Beach Campsite and Sanitary Sewer System user rates were advanced to their third readings. The council also directed staff to participate in upcoming discussions regarding a Water Sustainability Plan for local watersheds and resolved to advocate for increased service levels on several ferry routes.
