The board discussed the School Board Self-Appraisal Summary, conducted a first reading for the review of several district policies, and received updates from Intermediate School District 917 regarding policy updates and health and safety plans. The Superintendent provided an update on summer campus projects and expressed concerns regarding the uncertainty of federal funding for public school districts. Board members also provided community updates regarding construction site safety and the availability of student summer meal programs.

The board addressed personnel actions including multiple resignations, retirements, and new appointments for teaching and administrative roles. Donations to Hilltop Elementary School were formally accepted, and the board approved a fee increase for the Spartan Kid's Care program. Policy revisions were discussed, including bullying prohibition and early entrance to kindergarten. Additionally, the board approved an extended field trip for the Simley High School girls tennis team and finalized various administrative contracts for the 2014-2016 period, including those for the directors of special education, buildings and grounds, community education, curriculum and instruction, technology, human resources, and business services.

Additionally, the board celebrated the opening of a new accessible playground at Hilltop Elementary.
