City Of Mexico Beach City Council Budget Workshop Meeting Minutes

The City Council conducted a budget workshop to address a $110,000 budget deficit. The discussion centered on reallocating Accounting and Auditing funds, as well as the Financial Director position, from the General Fund to the Water, Sewer, and Sanitation Funds. These reallocations provided a credit to the General Fund, allowing for the hiring of a new Sheriff officer and balancing the budget with a 97% Ad Valorem rate and a millage rate reduction to 5.75%. Consensus was reached to proceed with the hiring and the new millage rate.
