City Council Special Meeting
The City Council held a special meeting to address community concerns regarding quality of life and public safety, particularly in the Miller Street and Meadow Street areas. The session served as a directional meeting to gather input from the public and staff regarding homelessness and unsheltered populations. Key topics included the role of the local shelter, the impact of affordable housing shortages, and the need for collaboration among municipalities and local resources to mitigate the homelessness crisis. Council members listened to public comments, including testimonies from shelter residents and advocates, and clarified that the objective was to discuss community well-being and potential solutions rather than closing the shelter.
