Morgan County Commission Commission Meeting
The Commission addressed public concerns regarding the environmental, noise, and safety impacts of a proposed data center and bitcoin mining facility. A resolution was adopted establishing a one-year moratorium on the development of such facilities to allow for further study. Other actions included authorizing an Employee Assistance Program agreement, entering into a software agreement with DebtBook for lease tracking, renewing a contract for inmate supplies with Victory Supply, approving property subdivisions, and renewing employee health, dental, and vision insurance contracts. Additionally, the Commission declared various items as surplus, approved a reappointment to the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama board, authorized disbursements for May 2026, and approved promotional funding for local events.
