The City of Tahlequah developed this Transportation Safety Action Plan (TSAP) to enhance traffic safety and achieve a 50% reduction in transportation-related fatalities and serious injuries by 2035. Guided by the Safe Systems Approach, the plan focuses on five pillars: Safe Roads, Safe Speeds, Safe Vehicles, Safe Road Users, and Post-Crash Care. It includes systemic countermeasures and targeted recommendations for high-risk areas, aiming to foster a safer, more connected city for all through equitable approaches, community education, and stakeholder collaboration.
