The Borough Council adopted a bond ordinance to authorize Phase I of the Borough-wide Sewer Improvements Project. The project has an appropriation of $950,000, with $900,000 in bonds/notes authorized. Section 20 costs are $45,000 and the useful life is 40 years.
The bond ordinance authorizes various public improvements and the acquisition of new equipment and machinery, including automotive vehicles for the Borough of Englewood Cliffs. These include improvements to municipal buildings and facilities, a Borough Records Digitizing Project, removal of underground fuel storage tanks, sanitary sewer line cleaning, installation of a salt shed, engineering and design phases for DPW facilities, improvements to sanitary and storm sewer systems, and acquisition of equipment for the DPW. The total appropriation is $2,000,000, with $100,000 as a down payment and $1,900,000 authorized for bonds and notes.
