KGHR's primary goal is to serve the rural communities of northeast Arizona, including the Navajo and Hopi Nations, by providing essential information and entertainment through radio. The station focuses on disseminating vital community information, addressing local issues via multi-language PSAs, and creating content that promotes Navajo history, practices, and language. Key initiatives include collaborating with tribal, health, and educational organizations, and delivering educational programming to meet the needs of diverse audiences. KGHR aims to expand its reach with a future streaming service and relies on CPB funding to sustain its operations as a critical source of local information and cultural preservation.
