The council meeting included several key actions, such as the presentation of a Proclamation for Autism Acceptance Month and the swearing-in of a Business License Code Enforcement Officer. Audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, were presented with a positive outlook. Ordinances regarding backflow prevention and code amendments were approved. Financial decisions involved approving project funding for the Leda Poore Concession Project, transferring bank account balances to the South Carolina Local Government Investment Pool, and converting construction loans for SCIIP projects to fixed interest loans. The meeting also addressed an unbudgeted NPDES permit renewal expense and concluded with updates on upcoming community events.

The council approved Resolution 2026-003 for the acceptance of loan assistance monies from the South Carolina Water Quality Revolving Fund Authority. The Council approved Ordinance 598 regarding backflow prevention and cross-connection device testing requirements and compliance procedures. Additionally, Ordinance 599 was approved, which amends regulations concerning occupancy after sewage service is disconnected. Discussions also included a reminder regarding the due date for statements of economic interest and a report on recent appraisals of city-owned properties, including the EMS building, a spare lot, and a laundromat on Breazeale Street.

The meeting included a presentation from Duke Energy regarding a neighborhood program designed to help customers save on energy bills by providing energy-saving items based on income. The council also held an executive session to discuss personnel matters within the Police Department.

The Belton City Council meeting included a second reading of Ordinance #532 regarding the General Election scheduled for November 7, 2017, for Council Seats in Wards 1, 3, and 5. Special recognition was given to Lauren Harrelson for achievements in tennis. Three new fire department officers were introduced. The council approved Resolution #2017-004, committing the City of Belton to provide a local match for an economic development grant to develop a trailhead with exercise equipment near downtown Belton.
