This document presents the findings and recommendations from an Equity Audit conducted for Mansfield Public Schools. The audit's purpose was to identify barriers and existing equitable practices related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the district, and to inform the development of a strategic plan for incorporating equitable practices. The findings are structured around nine key domains: Vision, Strategy & Culture; Accountability for Equitable Student Access & Outcomes; Governance & Conditions; Focus on Culturally Responsive and Linguistically Sustaining Teaching & Learning; Student Readiness to Learn; Workforce Development; Family & Community Engagement; Data; and School Management. The recommendations outline actions to build a shared vision for equity, enhance professional development, foster culturally responsive and linguistically sustaining classrooms, diversify the workforce, develop an equity-centered data management plan, establish a Multi-Tiered System of Support, and improve family and community engagement, aiming to create a more inclusive experience for all students, families, and staff.

The Mansfield Public Schools Improvement Plan for 2022-2023 outlines a strategic roadmap focused on enhancing student achievement and overall educational outcomes. The plan is structured around four key pillars: fostering high-quality teaching and learning practices and materials, increasing equitable and inclusive practices, developing a multi-tiered system of supports, and cultivating collaboration to innovate learning environments and pathways. It aims to proactively address student needs, improve school climate, and ensure academic success for all students.

The Mansfield Public Schools Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Plan is a roadmap designed to foster a culturally proficient, diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. It outlines five key focus areas: cultivating a shared district-wide DEI culture and vision, implementing data-informed decision-making for student success, enhancing cultural competency understanding and practices, increasing student belonging, access, and support, and ensuring inclusive communication and engagement with families and the community. The plan aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills for fulfilling lives, enable staff to excel, and encourage families to be active partners in their children's education and the district's continuous improvement.

The Mansfield Superintendent Search Advisory Committee held a meeting to interview candidates for the Superintendent position. The committee discussed the next steps, including reviewing the job description, criteria, and interview notes. They will deliberate on the candidates and identify the finalists in a future meeting.

The committee members reviewed interview questions and discussed various aspects of the candidates' qualifications, including their approach to addressing the needs of high-needs student populations, data-informed decision-making methods, experience with budget priorities and fiscal plans, strategies for community engagement and communication, and their understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The committee also explored how candidates would handle challenges and crises, support student mental health, and ensure students master core competencies.
