Chinle Unified School District #24's strategic plan, launched in 2014, aims to establish the district as a center of excellence to ensure better and brighter futures for its community youth and empower students to be 'Competitive, Unique, Successful, and Driven'. Key strategic elements emphasize raising academic performance to a district-wide 'A' status, strengthening educator recruitment, retention, and leadership, investing in sustainable operations and transportation, preserving and advancing Navajo cultural and language programs, and positioning the district as a regional and national example of educational improvement and community-focused innovation.

The meeting addressed several key topics, including an out-of-state travel request for the Superintendent, approval of transmittals, and the proposed budget for FY 2025-2026. The board also considered accepting a donation for school connect activities and revising the Annual Expenditure Budget for FY 2024-2025. Personnel items included resignations, new hires, extra-curricular activities and duties, substitute custodians, health care aides, secretaries, systems operators, teachers, and teacher assistants. The board also discussed contract renewals for classified employees, personnel action requests, workforce placement, and student/teacher apprenticeships. Additionally, the board discussed a support letter for vaping prevention and a Memorandum of Understanding for school mental telehealth services.

The meeting included discussions and actions on various personnel matters, including resignations, new hires, and salary adjustments. The board also discussed and approved a student/teacher apprenticeship program. Additionally, the board approved a student placement agreement with Arizona State University, an experiential education partnership agreement with Maricopa County Community College District and Scottsdale Community College, and a resolution regarding a net metering request to the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA).

The Governing Board convened to address various personnel and instructional matters. Personnel actions included approving resignations, new hires for certified and classified positions, substitute secretaries and teachers, extra-curricular activities, workforce placement, volunteers, and student/teacher apprenticeships. The board also reviewed requests for transfers. Instructional items involved approving a Memorandum of Understanding between Navajo Head Start and Chinle Unified School District No. 24, as well as approving ASBA Policy Services Advisory. Additionally, there was a first reading of Policy JJJ, and a special board meeting was requested to approve student handbooks and a policy.

The meeting included a second reading and approval of Policy JJJ, and a request for Governing Board approval of the Student Handbooks for the School Year 2025-2026.
