The Board meeting involved several key agenda items and announcements. Key actions included approving a contract renewal with Davey Resource Group, Inc. for annual pole inspections and reinforcement. The Board also unanimously passed a motion recommending that the Bryan City Council approve a Purchase and Sales Agreement with Axis Pipe and Tube, LLC for the potential acquisition of approximately 86 acres owned by the City of Bryan. Furthermore, BTU announced it won the APPA Excellence in Public Power Communications Award for Web & Social Media, recognizing the website update from late 2024. Staff participation in the KBTX Food for Families Food Drive on December 3, 2025, was also noted.

The Board meeting addressed several operational and financial matters. Key approvals included a contract for upgrading mobile workforce management software and ratification of reimbursement to the Texas Municipal Power Agency (TMPA) for the Dansby to Steep Hollow Rebuild Project. The Board authorized the Chairman to sign Master Service Agreements for transmission routing and environmental engineering services with Burns and McDonnell and HDR Engineering, Inc., and approved the purchase of an Altec Bucket Truck. Separate construction contracts for five Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) were approved with 5 Star Electric, Sterling Global, and Ardent Services. Furthermore, the Board approved resolutions recommending that the Bryan City Council authorize revenue bond issuances totaling $45,000,000 for the City Electric System and $23,500,000 for the Rural Electric System for CIP projects. Contracts for Primary Underground Unit Services (with H&B Contractors) and Secondary Underground Unit Services (with Sterling Global) for FY26 were also approved.

The Board approved several professional services contracts, including those for design and staking of FY27 Capital Improvement Projects with M&S Engineering, Heart of Texas Utility Design, and McCord Engineering. A contract with HDR Engineering, Inc. was approved for routing and CCN support for the 345kV interconnection project. The Board also approved an amendment to a contract with McCord Engineering related to the TXDOT SH6 project, and renewed the line clearance/tree trimming contract with Nelson Tree Service, Inc. for FY26. Furthermore, a contract was approved with Aggieland Construction for the construction of a transmission warehouse storage building.

The Board reviewed BTU's safety culture and its impact on recordable injuries over the last ten years. They approved a Master Services Agreement with POWER Engineers for Transmission design and construction management services, as well as a contract amendment for professional surveying services with Baseline Corp. An easement with the Texas A&M University System for an electric line on the RELLIS Campus was also approved. Additionally, the board discussed possible modifications to BTU's current solar retail rate structure.

The Bryan Texas Utilities Board of Directors meeting included discussions and decisions on several key areas. The board reviewed and discussed the Fiscal Year 2026 Non-Competitive Capital Improvement Projects and Operating & Maintenance Budgets. A contract was approved with Preferred Sales Agency Ltd. for the purchase of concrete poles for the Brushy Creek Loop 138 kV Project. Another contract was approved with Lambda Construction Ltd. for the construction of distribution facilities at Steele Store Substation. The General Manager discussed potential load growth in Northwest Brazos County and provided updates on transmission activity to serve the projected load growth.
