The Board welcomed a new Trustee for Sub-division No. 2 and discussed the setting of Education Property Tax mill rates for the 2026 taxation year. Additional items included an update on the ongoing School Community Council nomination and election process, a summary of a recent School Community Council Forum, and various accomplishments and upcoming events involving student talent and athletics.

The meeting agenda included several action items such as the authorization of a borrowing resolution, approval of the mill rate, setting mileage, meal, and other rates for the 2026-27 period, and finalizing edits to Board Policy 5 regarding the role of the Board Chair. Additionally, the board reviewed administrative procedures and held a closed session to discuss bargaining and facilities.

The Board addressed several key agenda items, including the declaration of results for the recent board trustee by-election and the presentation of the second-quarter fiscal accountability report, which indicated that expenditures remain on target. Additionally, the Board approved the upcoming school calendar and reviewed the mid-year transportation report, which covered urban bus services and associated risk management areas. Planning for an upcoming forum for School Community Council representatives was also confirmed.

This document outlines the K-12 developmental continuum for Treaty Education within the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education. It identifies four core goals: Treaty Relationships, Spirit and Intent of Treaties, Historical Context of Treaties, and Treaty Promises and Provisions. The plan aims to build understanding and appreciation of Treaties, engage learners through inquiry and discovery, and foster a belief in Treaty Education that benefits all learners by integrating it into various subject areas.

The Superintendent of Education provided an update on the Inspiring Success priority plan, which guides the development of First Nations and Metis education plans. Discussions included the annual Recommendation for Designation for French Immersion Programs offered at several schools. Proclamations were made for Family Literacy Week (January 25-31), French Second Language Week (February 2-6), and Teacher / Staff Appreciation Week (February 9-13). The Board also held a dialogue session with representatives from the Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association.
