The commission reviewed numerous applications for Certificates of Appropriateness involving residential construction projects, including the construction of accessory dwelling units, detached garages, and home facade alterations on various properties. Several applications were approved on the consent agenda. The commission further deliberated on specific projects, resulting in approvals with conditions, a denial of a home addition project, a deferral of a modification request, and the withdrawal of a demolition and reconstruction proposal.

The council meeting addressed several items including appointments to the Arts and History Commission, approval of financial expenditures, and various public hearing requests for subdivisions, annexations, and rezonings. The council also authorized multiple resolutions, such as the approval of agreements with St. Luke's Health System, procurement of a light rescue hazmat unit, and renewals of sole-source procurement contracts for public works. Additionally, the council conducted public hearings regarding the FY 2027 budget, forgone property tax, new or increased fees, and development impact fees, and reviewed various ordinances including zoning classification amendments.

This Five-Year Consolidated Plan for the City of Boise (2026-2030) outlines strategies and goals to address affordable housing and community development needs. It focuses on increasing the supply of affordable housing units, particularly for households at or below 60% Area Median Income, preserving existing housing stock, and enhancing access to social and housing-related services for low- to moderate-income individuals and households. The plan identifies key priorities, including public safety, pedestrian/bicycle safety infrastructure, public facility improvements, and specific supportive services for vulnerable populations, all while emphasizing collaboration and citizen participation.

The commission reviewed multiple applications for Certificates of Appropriateness regarding historic properties. Several items were deferred to a future hearing, including requests for new construction, garage modifications, and tree removals, to allow for revised plans or additional information. The commission approved several other requests, including the construction of accessory dwelling units, dormer additions, facade alterations for contributing structures, and the reclassification of a contributing garage. Additionally, the commission approved revised findings for a development project involving the demolition of a noncontributing structure and the construction of two new single-family homes.

The meeting involved a discussion regarding the update to the Historic Preservation Plan. Additionally, members were elected to the HPP Update Subcommittee, a motion which was approved unanimously.
