This document serves as a closing report for the 'Destination 2022' strategic plan, which spanned the 2017-2022 period. The plan focused on five key strategic goals: developing a mission-minded culture, ensuring student academic success, driving enrollment, responding to workforce needs and demographic shifts, and serving a diverse student population. Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the College made progress in areas such as equitable instruction, retention, enrollment growth (pre-pandemic), new program development, increased scholarships, and cultural competency training, while also identifying ongoing challenges in enrollment recovery, retention, equity gaps, and workforce diversity.
The 2023-2027 Equity and Inclusion Strategic Plan for Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) focuses on three strategic priorities: 1. Implementing institution-wide initiatives to promote equity, inclusion, diversity, accessibility, and belonging (EIDAB), including the implementation of an anti-racism framework to better serve underrepresented groups. 2. Promoting inclusive excellence, including achieving and maintaining the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) designation and implementing strategies outlined in the Higher Learning Commission's Quality Initiative (QI) to better serve Hispanic/Latinx students. 3. Collaborating with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and retain a more diverse workforce of both faculty and staff. The plan aims to create a more inclusive and equitable environment where differences do not create barriers to access, opportunity, or representation, and to move from awareness to action in addressing systemic inequalities.
