The strategic plan for Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School District aims to achieve agricultural, technical, and academic excellence, preparing students for competitive careers and community engagement. The meeting commenced with a call to order. The primary focus of the Policy Subcommittee was the update to the bylaws. It was determined that the District cannot unilaterally change the bylaws regarding a weighted vote for agricultural representatives without amending existing legislation. Following discussion, a motion was passed unanimously to authorize the Superintendent to request an amendment to the relevant Act to include weighted votes for agricultural non-member community students, which will then move to the full School Committee for approval. The meeting also included a discussion item not reasonably anticipated by the Chairperson.

The Program Advisory Committee discussed several agenda items. Key topics included student enrollment and placement, the annual programmatic review concerning space under construction, and the bias review checklist (finding no new textbooks to review). Discussions on the Quality Assessment Tool were also impacted by construction space. New trends in the occupational area focused on changes in the livestock program, concentrating efforts, the acquisition of purebred Herefords, and utilizing AI for breeding, emphasizing animals with economic value, market timing, and the need for sheep shearing skills. Curriculum improvements involving probiotics and health trends were noted. Client communication skills, such as confirmation calls and professional technology use (email/texting), were emphasized, particularly regarding digital workflows in veterinary settings. The employment outlook highlighted a national shortage of technical staff, with high demand for skilled Veterinary Technicians, although burnout and salary limitations were also noted. A new business item involved visiting and discussing the layout of the new Angell clinic.

Key discussions included the Treasurer's Report, noting reconciled bank records and better-than-expected profits from the concession stand, with a recommendation to seek expense reductions next year. Fundraising efforts, aiming for a $27,500 goal, involve several raffles (Winter, Valentine's, Class 50/50, and Lottery Raffle Trees/Wreaths). The Hawk Holiday Hope event plans detailed decoration setup, volunteer needs, and cleanup dates. The Hawk Nest initiative is collecting new or gently worn professional attire and seeking gift card donations. A motion to approve the budget was mentioned, and student events, including Homecoming Weekend, were briefly noted.
