The committee conducted a series of presentations, including proclamations for awareness initiatives and recognition of local accomplishments in dance. The session focused heavily on legislative actions, specifically the passage of ordinances establishing new residential zoning districts, authorizing financial agreements for urban renewal and senior housing developments, adjusting salaries for non-contractual employees, and amending the municipal code regarding emergency medical services.

The Planning Board addressed several applications, including approval for a parking lot modification at 877-885 Main Street and a lot line adjustment for the Salvatore and Anna Rotondo Living Trust at 1 & 3 Tuller Court. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing an application by IAAT Services, LLC regarding a proposed billboard installation on Highway 36. Discussions for this application centered on ordinance compliance, billboard height and size specifications, lighting functions, potential traffic impacts, and environmental considerations. The board decided to carry the billboard application to a future meeting to allow for further review of traffic studies and crash data.

The committee held a regular meeting featuring several ceremonies, including the swearing-in of two new police officers and the presentation of the Dennis J. Bogard Veteran of the Year Award. Additionally, the committee recognized youth sports teams for recent championship victories. Legislative actions included the adoption of ordinances related to construction code fees, the acquisition of real estate for recreation and open space preservation, local fire safety enforcement, and the establishment of an additional street name. The meeting also addressed the introduction of an ordinance regarding salary adjustments for non-contractual employees.

The committee meeting included the administration of oaths of office for a new Lieutenant and several Sergeants within the police department. Recognitions were presented to two long-serving volunteers of the Middletown Fire Department with keys to the city for their 50 years of service. Additionally, the Daughters of the American Revolution Middletown Township Chapter presented youth awards to local students for their community leadership and service. A public hearing was initiated regarding an ordinance for a lease renewal with the Navasync Maritime Heritage Association for the Grover House.

The committee held a presentation recognizing middle school cheerleaders for their competition victory and proclaimed April as volunteer month and autism awareness month. Several ordinances were discussed and approved, including those concerning road dedication, parks improvements, and regulations on billboards. Capital improvements were also addressed through a bond ordinance. Public comments included concerns regarding the potential closure of local schools and its impact on property values and community stability.
