City Council Regular Meeting
The council received presentations from Brandon First and the Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan Steering Committee, officially supporting the latter. Members discussed committee reports, including a proposal for the Brandon General Museum and Archives to sell memberships and modify its bylaws. The council addressed disaster financial assistance for a heavy rain event and a flood event. Administrative updates were provided on the Eastview Landfill diversion depot and various infrastructure and community facility projects, including the Canada Packers Sports Complex and Southwest Brandon growth. Additionally, the council approved a pledge of taxes for utility upgrades, considered the establishment of an Indigenous Relations Officer position, and conducted the first reading of a by-law regarding the opening of a public road.
